Do you get stuck for Blog Post Ideas? | There's a simple and easy resource you can use to inspire your blog posts ....
Is your Blog Post deadline looming and you are stuck for ideas for your latest blog?
You are sitting there with a blank sheet of paper or more likely a blank screen and …….. NOTHING, Zilch, Nada!!! No fabulous, winning blog idea anywhere in sight.
We’ve all been there.
If you find it difficult to get started writing a blog, an easy way to inspire you, are “Awareness Days”.
These Awareness dates may last a day, a week or a month. They usually happen annually with a focus on different aspects of that issue. Whilst I’m referring to them as Awareness Days, they can also be Saints Days, National Days, World Days, Seasons, or days to celebrate or remember specific dates, such as Father's Day, or Valentines Day.
There are hundreds of such days to choose from, many are country-specific, others worldwide. They range from the more lighthearted, like Popcorn Lovers Day, to the more serious, World Menopause Day.
There are a number of different ways in which you can use them.
For example, if you work with cancer patients and their families then you can use awareness dates related to cancer, smoking, alcohol or another, cancer-linked, topic.
You can write about:
living with a cancer diagnosis from the perspective of the person with cancer
difficulties family members may face
tips on managing expectations
coping with changing roles in family dynamics
coping with the death of a family member
how you’ve helped someone with that particular issue.
If you work with weight issues then you could use events related to food, health or stress as a basis for your blog ideas. Believe it or not, in the UK we have National Guacamole Day. You could link this in a blog to diets from other countries and research into healthy diets. We also have a National Kale Day! What would you write about that?
You can write about:
Exercise and weight reduction, referring to the latest research
Tips to prevent comfort eating
How you’ve helped someone reduce their weight
Childhood eating habits and how they can impact on our future health
Ways to manage stress without turning to food
Hopefully, you have an idea of the many different perspectives you can take when writing a blog based on an Awareness Day.
The US is a great source of national days, some more obscure than others! If you don’t find anything relevant from within the UK, you can use international or worldwide dates or ones from other countries to inspire your writing. You can also ….
I’ve created a Free download that lists 24 Awareness Days. It covers dates from October 2022 to the end of September 2023. I’ve given you two a month and tried to pick the ones that are likely to be of most use to therapists. It also includes links to three different Awareness day websites. Not all days are listed on all sites!
One last thing. Remember to put a call to action either within your blog or at the end. Whether that’s to download something, share your blog or get in touch with you!
Happy writing :)
P.S. I’d love to know how you’ve used these ideas. Do share with me when you’ve posted a blog on your site or used it as a basis for a post elsewhere. SEO is also important to consider when writing blogs.
